Hippopotamus Christmas Earrings

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. A hippopotamus is all I want..... Yep this is the song that I was singing as I was making these very cute Hippo earrings. And I just love them in the silver glitter faux leather

These earrings are made by embroidering on faux leather. But what is faux leather? Faux leather is just a fancy name for imitation leather which of course has many different names pleather and vinyl being some. I’ve used vinyl for these earrings because of its strength, durability and lightness when you wear them. You may think oooooow vinyl.  Fear not. This is not the same vinyl that you have on your kitchen floor. I use marine vinyl and other specialty vinyls that are soft, yet strong. I love wearing them and I’m sure you will too once you try them and the best part is that they are incredibly light to wear. in fact you'll hardly notice that you are actually wearing them unless someone comments or you move your head and they brush against your cheek.

The charm measures approximately 5.5 cm x 4cm

They hang approximately 8 cm
